I'm Bill Quimby. I run NewLocalNumbers.com along with VanityNumbers.com, Resporgs.com and a family of related sites. Here is what this site knows about you and what I do with it.
The numbers on this site
NewLocalNumbers.com shows which phone company was given each block of local numbers, and when, from the phone industry's number assignment records. That's about numbers and the companies that issue them, not about people.
Visits and lookups
Like most websites, this one keeps a log of each page request: the page, the time, the internet address it came from, and the browser type. I keep these logs for 400 days, to keep the site fast, stop abusive traffic, and understand what people look up here.
If you write to me
When you ask for a number alert, or ask me to help you get a number from a phone company, I keep what you send: your email, your name if you give it, the number and your notes, plus the page you came from and your internet address, so I can answer you and stop abuse. I may also look at the lookups made from your connection around the same time, so my answer fits what you were looking for. One service provider, Anthropic, helps me read requests and draft my answers; nothing goes out without my review.
AI assistants
AI assistants can look up local numbers here through a direct connection. For each lookup I keep the area code, state or number asked, the answer, which assistant asked, and when, with nothing that points to you. I keep the whole number so the next person who asks gets the answer free, and as my record of which numbers people ask about. A scrambled tag for the caller is kept 48 hours to stop abuse, then only totals. A lookup never tells me your name, and I don't keep any location your assistant sends. If you ask your assistant to watch a number, it passes along your email, and your first name if you give it, and you confirm it before anything else is sent; VanityNumbers.com runs the watch and its emails. If you never confirm, your address is deleted after 14 days. Once you've confirmed a watch, your assistant can include your email when it looks something up for you. Those lookups, full numbers included, stay with your watch until you unsubscribe, and then they're deleted. They help me pick better suggestions for you, and they give you your own, larger allowance of lookups and a check of whether a number is in use. More about it: newlocalnumbers.com/ai.
What I never do
